The village of Croyde in North Devon is a magical place, steeped in old world charm and a delightful coastal community of colour washed thatched cottages with a beautiful sandy bay. Croyde is said by many to be the best surfing beach in the UK, and there can be few villages in the country with such a perfect blend of picturesque charm and vibrant life. The wide sheltered bay, with its long broad sweep of golden sands offers safe bathing and excellent surfing. The beach is privately owned and well kept, is patrolled by lifeguards between May and September and has the prestigious Seaside Award. Cycling, horse riding, golf and tennis are available locally. There is also a variety of pubs and restaurants all providing extensive menus, and several cafes to indulge yourself with a Devon Cream Tea. |
